Watching the Trailer
Watching the Trailer is an online hub for academic and industry-based research and opinion on the 'coming attraction' film trailer.
These short compelling films are enjoyed in theatres, searched for online, talked about with friends... and sometimes we even use them to make movie-viewing decisions! Despite its popularity and apparent ubiquity, there is very little research around the trailer: from its history and aesthetics to how we interact with, understand and use them.
This site aims to change that, to bring together the best writing on, and about, film trailers and other promotional materials.
So, have a look around. Check out our links, our bibliography of all things trailer-related, and our blog posts, and contact us if you have any suggestions or want to contribute.
Yours truly,
Fred, Keith & Ed
